CAS NO.: 30560-19-1
CLASS: Organophosphate
PROPERTIES: Tech: White solid; strong, pungent, mercaptan-type odor. Melting point 81¡ã-91¡ãC. Solubility at room temperature: aromatic solvents <5%; acetone or ethanol >10%.
ACTION: Insecticide.
USE: For beans, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, cotton, cranberries, head lettuce,
mint, peanuts, peppers, and tobacco. Effective against alfalfa looper, aphids, armyworm,
bagworm, bean leaf beetle, bean leafroller, blackgrass bugs, bollworm, budworm,

Asataf* for green and brown leafhopper, brown plant hopper on rice; white aphid on chili, sesamum, and cotton. Orthene* for green and brown leafhopper on rice.FORMULATIONS: Soluble powder, granules.
FORMULATIONS: Soluble powder, granules.
HAZARDS: Fish: LC50 >1000 ppm (rainbow trout, bluegill). Bird: LD50 350 mg/kg (mallard); LD50 140 mg/kg (pheasant). Bee: LC50 0:2 ¦Ìg/bee. SOIL PARTICLE ADSORPTION: Acephate dissipates rapidly with half-lives of <3 and 7 days in aerobic and anaerobic soils, respectively. Major metabolite was CO2 in both soil types. TLC and soil column studies indicate acephate is mobile in most soils but that aged residues (excluding acephate and its degradate methamidophos) are immobile
in sandy loam soil. Apparently most of the applied acephate and degradate methamidophos degrade to immobile compounds in 20 days.
SOLUBILITY (IN WATER): Room temperature, 65%.
TOXICITY CLASS: III
HANDLING/STORAGE CAUTIONS: Keep container closed when not in use. Store in cool, dry place away from food and feed. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact
with mouth, skin, and eyes.
